Ronnie Drew passed away today after a long illness,he has had a long battle with illness,seeing him on the Late Late Show recently was sad to see how a person can be taken by this terrible Cancer.There is not  a relation or a person that we all know who have been taken by this, his wife Deirdre also passed away a year ago. The Ardhu Ryan situated on the Ennis Road had a special vistior  “Shelia Daly “  Christmas Day 2007 who returned to pay a visit to the Hotel of her wedding reception for the first time in 54 years which turned out to be something special as when you view the video. Shelia was met at the doors of a now listed building with flowers from the Manager which made the day a bit more special for her. This is her story. Westfields Wetlands in Limerick City has come to the attention of the public again,local councillor Kathleen Leddin has been to the forefront in this area for many years, which has seen it  been saved from development which was granted recently by the Limerick City Manager Tom Mackey. Southend Football Club recently held their Fifth  Annual Boys and Girls evening on July 17 ,An evening comprising of soccer matches for the Boys and Girls and Penalty taking. Athea a tiny village in Co. Limerick is now renowned as a venue throughout the world for its staging of the Annual Motorcycling Road Race. The most recent Road race was held in Athea during last week of June. Munster News: Cork 0-19 Tipperary 0-18 Cork Defeated Tipperary the reigning All Ireland Champions for the past two years in the Munster Final played at the Gaelic Grounds Limerick by one point point.Cork deserved to win by more and missed several goal chances and wasted opportunities during the match.It is the All Ireland Semi Final for Cork and the backdoor route for Tipperary who have have been drawn to play Antrim next.
